Using contact lenses.

I'll try to be brief and give only useful info based on my experiences, for people who are considering getting lenses.( In case you need more info put a comment).

I used Baush and Lomb lenses. The type I used were to be used for a month before disposing and using new pair also I had two different numbers in both eyes one if them was a cylindrical number.

As of February 2010 six pairs (a six month quota) costed me roughly 1500 in Bangalore ( plus or minus 200, I am not too sure). The big Renu bottle costs about 350 and can be used for about 2 months if used everyday, the small one is around 100 and lasts only about 2 weeks or so.

1. How are contact lenses worn and held in the eyes ?

To start with contact lenses are just placed onto the eyes by keeping them open and placing them on the eyes (and so there is a rare chance that they can fall.)

Wearing contact lenses needs a lot of care and about 10 - 15 mins of time.
Care is needed to clean the lens throughly with the Renu cleaner, even a small speck of dust or soap will hurt the eye like a needle.
Care is also needed to hold it on the finger tips so that it does not fall and to be able to tell if it is the right way up (Yes they do have ulta and seedha sides !!)

I have been using since the last six months and still find it difficult.

Most of the time when I have contacts on it is a very uncomfortable feeling and I have completely stopped using them and use them only on special occasions.

Thanks
Anur
P.S : This info is based on my experiences only, it may be so that I value time and comfort more than looks or the find the discomfort of glasses more tolerable than that of contacts. The choice is entirely yours, please don't hold anything against me.
